Heavy duty, commercial Stihl Chainsaw hire. They’re a proper heavy duty commercial chainsaw – not one from Stihl’s “consumer” range – that’ll give you more cutting than you can handle in a day.
Or a pole chainsaw hire for safe cutting of limbs from the ground. Much safer than a ladder – and great for use with a cherry picker to give you extra reach and save limbs falling and damaging the cherry picker.
And if you need to remove the stump, we can help with stump grinder hire as well as log splitter hire to make the logs fit in your fireplace and dry out quickly.
Maybe you have lots of work for a chainsaw and would like to buy one.
We often have a used chainsaw for sale. Check here…

This is a how to guide – not a safety guide. Read and be familiar with the Operators Manual before using.
Lock the throttle trigger in the “full revs” start position and turn on the choke:
Now you’re ready to start the chainsaw –
BUT get ready to stop pulling the pull cord as soon as the saw burps.
Pull starter cord with your right hand strongly and quickly until the chainsaw burps (probably 3-4 pulls but maybe as many as 7-10).
STOP PULLING NOW OR YOU’LL FLOOD THE CHAINSAW
NOTE if the chainsaw has been used in in last half hour or so (depending on the weather and temperature) start here. Don’t use full choke on a warm chainsaw or you will flood the saw.
Don’t touch the throttle triggers – they need to stay in full rev position.
It is now running on full revs. Quickly grab throttle lever, squeeze it and let go – this will put it in low revs.
Pull chain brake back before reving again.
DO NOT RUN SAW AT FULL REVS WITH CHAIN BRAKE ENGAGED (FORWARD). YOU’LL BREAK THE SAW.
Quick Tips;
1. Motor Runs but chain doesn’t move?
* Chain Brake – A in above image – needs to be pulled back.
* If you’ve just adjusted the chain and now it won’t move, it may be too tight. With the motor off, the chain should move freely by hand.
